w114 om606 Monstercrawlers

And so it begins.. just got to wait for a different sump to turn up then it’s time to slot in the new heart and look at mounting it up

Engine back out…. again. Welded up all the cut aways in the subframe with some nice 5mm plate.. now on with the tunnel

There’s the difference in the sump that makes it all possible. Om606na w124 on the left and the standard om606 w210 on the right… that nice front cut out makes all the difference and no need to change oil pumps either..Nice

  1. Hi,
I was thinking of maybe fitting the 722.6 behind the M110 in my W114 coupe.
What is needed to the trans into the tunnel?

    1. no 722.6 will fit a m110 straight away. you would have to reweld the bellhousing, aswell as figure out a way to get the converter mated to a flywheel that fits the m110.

Perhaps its better to consider swapping the engine for a m103 or alike at the same time and getting a gearbox that is a straight fit on the engine.
Regarding size of the tunnel the 722.6 wasnt an issue for my friend Dan Reading who fit a 722.6 behind his om606 in his w114

He did some minor alteration in front of the shifter.
Althou he modified the front-subframe to get his om606 sitting quite low.

  2. How much boost and hp did you end up getting Did you have to beef up the differential? I’ve got a w115 that I want to do this to, but have some questions so i can build a proper parts list.

    1. This is Dans car at BaggedBenzUK, and yes he did beef up the diff, but mostly to obtain a better ratio,
      a 2.47LSD diff from a w126.
